WATERBABIES 1
For very young babies with little or no experience of the water or swimming classes, and their parents/caregivers,
This is a gentle introduction to the water and age-appropriate safety, through play-based activities with familiar songs and plenty of toys.
It is a teacher-led class taking the parents through different holds and movements to develop motor skills and basic safety practices to help all feel comfortable and safe.
*All children under 3 years of age are required to wear an approved swim nappy/diaper while participating in Waterbabies + Tadpoles classes. Swim diapers are specifically designed to prevent the leakage of solid waste into water – your child will not be permitted to join the class without one*

WATERBABIES 2
For older babies with experience in the water and/or swimming lessons, and their parents/care-givers.
These classes build water confidence and basic water-skills, to older babies and parents, through play-centred activities and games with plenty of toys and familiar songs.
It is a teacher-led class taking the parents through different holds and movements to develop motor skills, basic safety practices, in order to help all feel comfortable and safe.

Water Orientation | Parent-Assisted
TADPOLES
For toddlers aged 24-36 months who are accustomed to the water and basic safety skills, able to hold onto the wall and follow instructions.
This class builds on basic water-skills, paddling/kicking, independent submerging, and is aimed towards more advanced toddlers.
Older Tadpoles will prepare to make the transition to the unassisted Guppies 1 class.

Independent Swimmer
GUPPIES 1
For young non-swimmers with little, or no, experience of water or swimming.
This class aims to develop floating, paddling, kicking, submerging, and safety skills.
It is a teacher-taught class and focusses on listening skills, taking turns, and following instructions. The smaller class size allow plenty of individual time with the teacher, as well as simple group activities.
Independent Swimmer
GUPPIES 2
For children who are confident in the water but have no stroke technique, i.e. able to go under, jump in without assistance and return to the side.
This class introduces rolling to breathe, stroke work and further safety skills.
It is a teacher-taught class and also focusses on listening skills, taking turns, and following instructions. The smaller class size allow plenty of individual time with the teacher, as well as simple group activities.
Independent Swimmer
PENGUINS
For children able to swim 10 metres basic front crawl, with basic roll-to-breathe from front to the back with ease, and able to kick 10 metres on the back.
The focus is on front crawl, backstroke, and introduces breaststroke along with basic standing dive, and continues safety and personal survival skills.
Stroke Development
SEALIONS
For children able to swim 50 metres front crawl with roll to breathe, and 25 metres backstroke.
Focus is on freestyle efficiency, bi-lateral breathing is introduced, backstroke, breaststroke, diving, and intermediate-level safety skills and personal survival.
Stroke Development
DOLPHINS
For children able to swim 100 metres competent front crawl with side breathing, 50 metres backstroke, and basic breaststroke.
Continued development in front crawl, backstroke efficiency, and improving technique in breaststroke, butterfly, competitive starts/turns.
Stroke Development
SHARKS
For children able to swim minimum of 100 metres demonstrating competent front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke.
The focus is on efficient technique for all four racing strokes, competitive starts/turns, advanced safety skills and personal survival.
Advanced Skills
ORCAS
For advanced swimmers able to demonstrate a minimum of 200 metres competent bi-lateral front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and 50 metres butterfly.
This class is for those ready for a team-style workout, while continually improving technique/competitive skills. New skills to develop include pace-work, using a poolside clock, competition protocol, and life-saving.
Adult
SWIMFIT Beginners
For non-swimmers, or those with little or no experience in the water.
This Total Immersion-based class is the ideal starting point to learn the requisite skills for front crawl, safety skills, back floating, and personal survival.
Emphasis is on learning in a stress-free environment where Total Immersion-based teaching methods are incorporated into a timely, progressive series of practices.
Adult
SWIMFIT Intermediate
For adults with basic front crawl or breaststroke skills, and able to swim 12-25 metres with ease.
This Total Immersion-based class builds on basic swimming and safety skills, improving front crawl efficiency through specific drills and practices. Breathing skills and survival skills are the focus, as well as learning backstroke.
Adult
SWIMFIT Advanced
For more advanced adults able to swim 100 metres continuously with ease.
This Total Immersion-based class focusses on developing swimmers’ efficiency, endurance, and speed in front crawl, and develops backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Drills, using the pace clock, interval training, learning open-water skills, all make this a challenging but fun class.
Adults
OPEN-WATER Swimmer
For more advanced adults able to swim 200 metres continuously.
This Total Immersion-based class is for advanced swimmers ready to learn open-water skills including swimming safely in different water conditions, sighting, and improving endurance through efficiency.
Essential skills are first worked on in the pool before moving to open water shore-based swims.
